NEW! we have just imported a lot of newly well-rooted small plants from the Netherlands, which will be just right to put into your warm autumn soil to grow away for next year. We are selling them for a short period while they are small, at the very low price of just £3.50 each! They are medium height varieties 'Phantom' and 'Purple Bush', and two good tall bushy varieties 'Atropurpureum' and 'Riesenschirm' --see each described below with photos. Also to plant in front of them, a beautiful blue shrubby Clematis heracleifolia (see under plants to accompany Eupatoriums)
Eupatoriums are the 'Hemp Agrimony' family, named after the ancient Persian Emperor Mythridates Eupator who believed in its medicinal properties and had it planted around his palaces. Many Eupatoriums are native to North and Central America, where they are also known as 'Joe Pye Weed' after an Algonquin Indian who used it to cure Typhus. Very attractive to butterflies and bees while adding great colour to the autumn herbaceous border. We are not normally open to the public, but you can make an appointment to visit to see the collection when it is in flower from late August to November, email  Jan@7wells.org to arrange a visit.
BBC Gardeners World featured the collection in 2013
