Eryngium planum; Hardy perennial
A smaller version of the sea hollies that is good for small spaces as well as en masse in larger borders. It has small teasel-like blue flowers that the bees absolutely adore!
The whole plant makes a good contrast foliage plant with blue-tinted branching
stems from July to September and toothed, dark green leaves. Likes sunny, well-drained
soil and can stand a lot of drought.
