Sodium carbonate
One of the two necessary chemicals to extract the blue dye from all Indigos. (The other one you'll need is Thiourea Dioxide, trade name 'Spectralite')
As with all chemicals, should be used with caution; can cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory system, so gloves should be worn and a well-ventilated area used.
