for Spring; Honesty and Wild Garlic Mustard (Aliaria petiolaris) ,attract Small Tortoiseshell and Orange Tip butterflies)
for Summer; Red Valerian, Birds' foot trefoil (attracts common blue butterfly) and Scabious (attracts all species) or Yarrow, also Hebe 'Midsummer Beauty' or Hebe salicifolia (white)
for late-Summer and Autumn; Buddleia weyeriana 'Golden Glow' or Buddleia 'Beijing', Fleabane, Knapweed and Eupatorium ligustrinum or E. cannabinum or E. purpureum (Joe Pye Weed -a large purple form)
