Digitalis purpurea Hardy biennial
The old favourite wild pink and purple-spotted
trumpets on a tall spike that flower in midsummer.
Great attraction for Bumblebees, and larval
food for a number of moths.
Foxgloves will seed themselves around
the garden in shady areas,
but don’t become invasive.
All parts of this plant are poisonous.
Sow in autumn for next year's flowers.
