Aloysia citrodora  This tender herb has the most fresh lemony scent and flavour to its leaves and is used to make a tea; Mary Berry uses it in her Lemon Drizzle Cake!  It grows into a small delicate shrub that may be hardy in the south, but I grow mine in a patio pot that is lovely to stroke past for the scent, and I bring it in under cover for the winter.Lemon verbena leaves are used to add a lemon flavor to fish and poultry dishes, vegetable marinades, salad dressings, jams, puddings, Greek yogurt. It can also be used to make a sorbet. In addition, it has anti-Candida albicans activity and is high in anti-oxidants.
