Pellitory-of-the-Wall
Parietaria judaica A strange native plant that is quite rare in the wild - but if it likes your garden it will seed itself around in limestone walls and steps and in containers. The flowers are fairly non-descript, green fuzzy bits, but the neat leaves and red stems make this quite good filler foliage. It dies down in winter. I have found several caterpillars of the Red Admiral butterfly feeding on it in late summer - it is an alternative larval foodplant for this butterfly, being related to nettles (but it doesn't sting).
