Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum' This is a familiar house plant that is said to absorb toxic fumes from faom-padded furniture etc. It is part of a genus that comes from Africa and thus can't withstand our winters outside, but is very robust in offices, houses and withstands a lot of drought and pollution. It produces long stems that have white flowers and then baby plants on the end which are easily propagated.
It can be used outside in containers in summer to good effect.
