Each online lecture takes about thirty minutes to read and takes you through step by step how to grow plants that will help our dwindling butterflies and other pollinators (NOT just honeybees!)
The first lecture will be about finding out which butterflies and other beneficial insects are living in your region and how to attract them to your garden with native and garden plants.
The second lecture will be all about our wild non-stinging bees (that actually pollinate more of our foodcrops than honeybees do) and how to provide habitat for them.
The third lecture will be about the other beneficial insects you can attract to eat your garden pests.
The fourth lecture will show you how to work out a plan for your particular garden or community space
Each lecture ends with an assignment which you can complete in your own time before sending it in to Jan who will comment on your information and help you develop a plan taylored to your particular garden and environment.
